Who should take the GRE?

What does the GRE exam entail?
The exam consists of four sections. The first section is an analytical writing section. The other sections contain multiple choice questions that test verbal and quantitative skills and a fourth, experimental section.
What should I know for each section of the GRE exam?
- The verbal section contains analogies, completions, and reading comprehension passages that tests vocabulary.
- The quantitative section consists of problem solving and quantitative comparison questions that test high-school level mathematics.
- The analytical writing section consists of two different essays: an issue task and an argument task.
- The experimental section can be either a verbal, quantitative, or analytical writing task. Tthe experimental section does not count toward the test-taker's score, but since test takers have no clear way of knowing which section is experimental, they are forced to complete this section.
